Our aim is to raise awareness of the plight of the people of Kititi. It is not a particularly special village, there are thousands like it all over Africa. But it is special to us and we would like your help.
You can help in many ways, fund-raising, Volunteering and Donating.
The people of Kititi need lots of every day items like food, clothing and medicines; the children would love colouring books and pencils. The problem comes with transportation at a cost of £300 per cubic metre, so we take what we can with us in our luggage allowances.
This means we have to be very selective and only take the priority items each time we go and therefore our greatest need is for money. It is light, easy to carry and we can use it in Uganda to buy the things our village needs.
Planting for Hope Uganda has teamed up with “Just Giving” one of the world's largest online fund raising organisations. If you would like to help our charity by organising your own fund raising event, then please click on the link in the side bar. Here you will find help to set up your own professional web page which you can dedicate to a personal event, from a sporting challenge to making and selling cupcakes. Money can be donated by your sponsors via text or online through PayPal and all donations including “Gift Aid” where appropriate, are then sent straight to our bank account.
Each member of our small team of volunteers is completely self-funded. They currently pay their own way to get to Kititi and their living costs in Uganda. The work in Uganda is hard but unbelievably rewarding. The tasks are many and varied with a chance for everyone to use their skills. We would like to be able to offer more people the opportunity to take part in our projects and share in our work with the people of Kititi. We will post information on both this site and our facebook page as we develop our volunteer programme. Your thoughts and ideas would be most welcome.
The greatest donation we could receive is money, either by a single donation or through a regular contribution. We have many children who would welcome and benefit tremendously from your regular sponsorship. We are totally self-funded and rely on the generosity of caring people who share our concerns for some of the poorest people in the world. There are very few overheads, so virtually every penny raised goes directly to the community of Kititi.
